Soft Landscaping: Liberty Close, Witney

This planting and landscaping project was completed between 8th January and 20th February 2019.

The street forms part of a six-home affordable housing development by Witney-based Cottsway Housing and Gloucester-based construction Company, E G Carter & Co Ltd.

The two shared ownership and four rental homes were built off of Curbridge Road, Witney. They are named after the local teenager Liberty Baker, who tragically lost her life after a car mounted the pavement as she was walking to school in 2014.

4th Corner were delighted when E G Carter & Co Ltd approached us to deliver the landscaping for this development. Our teams worked hard to plant the gardens with a variety of trees, shrubs and climbers. These included the trees Ligustrum Japonicum and Betula ‘Fascination’, shrubs Choisya, Cistus, Deutzia, Escallonia, Euonymus, Hebe, Lavandula, Lonicera, Osmanthus, Philadelphus, Salvia and Skimmia, and climbers Clematis, Lonicera japonica and Wisteria.

EG Carter and Cottesway Housing will be planting a tree on the site in Liberty’s name in Autumn, 2019.
