4th Corner have recently taken over the grounds maintenance contract for Nära Nurseries, based at the Horton General Hospital in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
The nursery has recently received a full refurbishment and worked to improve their services for children, families and staff, resulting in a ‘Good’ Ofsted report this June.
In addition to routine bi-monthly grounds maintenance visits throughout the summer period, 4th Corner were asked to complete some additional works this month. These included building two planters and felling a tree.
Our Senior Team Leader, Craig Jeffs, and Team Leader, Robert Jeffery, crosscut the felled tree into large logs to create a new campfire-like seating area for the children to enjoy.

The flower planters, which Craig and Robert built from railway sleepers, were filled with a tonne of topsoil each, ready for the children to begin planting in. We hope that they will be cherished and cared for by both the children and staff, and will encourage a lifelong love of the outdoors.

Nära Nurseries aim to nourish the hearts, hands and minds of their children, and cherish each child’s early years as a unique and special time, which builds the foundation for future success, well-being and lifelong learning. They commit to promoting happiness, fulfillment and quality to all members of their community through a culture of kindness, respect, integrity and inclusivity.
4th Corner have worked at a number of education settings, including St Helen and St Katharine School in Abingdon and Nära Horton in Banbury. We understand the importance of safeguarding, and our staff undergo a full DBS check before attending site. We are also able to schedule all works in school holidays to avoid disrupting the children’s learning. For more information, check out our case studies below and get in touch!
