4th Corner Support Newly Rated Nara Nurseries

4th Corner are thrilled to have taken over the grounds maintenance contract for Nara Nurseries, based at the Horton General Hospital in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

The Horton Day Nursery and Pre-School, which was on the verge of closure in November 2022 after almost 30 years of taking care of children, has now received a ‘Good’ in all areas after an Ofsted report this June, following their change in management.

To support the children’s continued well-being and development, 4th Corner will be installing two raised beds for them to plant in, as well as constructing a new outdoor shed and completing general maintenance works. We hope that they will be cherished and cared for by both the children and staff, and will encourage a lifelong love of the outdoors.

Located within the Horton General Hospital site, the nursery has received a full refurbishment, and has worked to improve their services for children families, and staff. In the Ofsted report, the inspectors describe how the children are “supported effectively”. The staff were also praised for the way in which they “promote children’s good behaviour effectively.”

Nursery Manager, Julie Clarke, stated: “I am absolutely delighted with the outcome and that the hard work and dedicated of the team has been recognised in the report.”

The nursery has previously donated £500 to Home-Start, a Banbury-based charity that provides practical and emotional support on a wide range of issues, including bereavement, domestic violence, and applying for benefits to families in the area.
