This year, two members of staff have celebrated five years of service at 4th Corner.
All staff at 4th Corner are awarded a certificate upon completion of their five years of service by Operations Manager, Graeme Makin, in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and loyalty to 4th Corner.
Matthew Bolter, who joined 4th Corner as a Horticultural Apprentice in 2018, celebrated five years of service this September. Initially becoming interested in horticulture after mowing his grandad’s garden as a child, he passed his theory paper at Pershore College with a Distinction.
Matthew stated: “The apprenticeship gave me the confidence to go out and enjoy the work, because I knew exactly how to get on with the job. I now have enough knowledge to work with other operatives, and pass on my knowledge and skills.”
Matthew has worked his way up to a Senior Team Leader in our Grounds Maintenance department, and is often responsible for training our new staff on their routes and machinery.
He works on our premium sites, such as The Pavillions in Bodicote, which require more skilled work and in-depth horticultural knowledge. Most importantly, he always keeps his van tidy!
Graeme stated: “Matthew is a brilliant asset to our team. I trust him completely with any work I give him. He’s a fantastic team player, always works with a smile, and gets on with everyone in our department. His hard work and dedication to 4th Corner doesn’t go unnoticed.”
